Generate, update and adjust opportunity pipeline to achieve both robust opportunity development as well as accuracy in forecasting. Maintain CRM -database with updated customer information as well as updated information on of business opportunities Meet with current and prospective customers to identify their needs and provide TJL Solutions utilizing our mice and services. The candidate hired into this role will have the ability to work remotely, but will meet with clients in the North Atlantic area. An Account Manager must demonstrate the ability to maintain key customer relationships and a proven ability to negotiate and close new business opportunities by consistently managing multiple, complex projects. Account Manager positions are geographically organized and field-based positions. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Maintain current business while identifying and developing new business opportunities in the Commercial and Academic segment to achieve mouse and service revenues to support the non-profit mission of The Jackson Laboratory by enabling research and contributing to surplus. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Measures of success include revenue performance versus established sales targets and accepted projects (won opportunities - new and renewed). Provides territory management that includes planning, implementation of plans, and reporting of results. Demonstrates an expertise in the utilization of the mouse as a platform of basic biomedical and drug discovery research and in the solutions provided by the Laboratory to solve research problems. Develops and maintains strong customer relationships, providing consultative solutions and required support. Overall responsibility for ensuring revenue and management objectives are met and exceeded for assigned territory (which may include designated National Accounts). The incumbent identifies, manages and expands relationships with commercial, non-profit, government and academic accounts.
